Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for our Veteran Home Repair Program. Habitat’s Veteran Home Repair program focuses on exterior work such as painting, tree trimming, gutters and downspouts, replacement of siding, landscaping and yard clean-up, as well as, exterior needs related to handicap accessibility. We are looking to have our initial, first gathering soon.  Still trying to find the perfect location for Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 7 – 8 pm.  An hour of intentional fellowship, message of hope, and getting to know one another. NeutralZone is an intentional community of faith focused on the journey of healing military service members face when they return from conflict.  The impact of war may have taken seconds to experience, but the road of healing may be a long, intentional journey.   It may be direct contact or indirect, either way, the injury is similar.  It may be hard to imagine, but you are not alone.  You should not suffer in solitude or silence.  The self-harm and suicide rates of veterans is staggering.  We want to honor those who bravely...

On June 18, 2017 Reverend Sherry Ferriman was officially appointed by the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Methodist church to start Neutral Zone!  Neutral Zone is an intentional community of faith focused on serving military service members and veterans.  After nearly two decades of war, military veterans have been exposed to trauma, over and over.  The invisible wounds of war are real, a new normal, and something needs to be done to help overcome the stigma and moral injury many experience, yet, often struggle to define or explain.  An average of 22 veterans a day commit suicide, many veterans experience homelessness, self-medication, or are unable to assimilate into society after the atrocities they have witnessed.  Each military service member...
